Loving Your Body Doesn’t Mean Staying Stuck

There’s this idea out there — a lot of toxic positivity, honestly — that you’re supposed to love your body exactly the way it is.

No questions.
No wanting more.
No room for change.

And that never worked for me.

Because if I had accepted the body I was in when I was miserable in it, I would have just settled.
And I would probably still be miserable.

For me, my body and my self-image are the foundation of almost everything.

How I move.
How I show up.
How much energy I have.
How confident I feel in my own life.

So when people say, “just love your body, it doesn’t matter your size,” I get the intention.
But that’s not the full picture.

Because what if you don’t feel good in it?
What if you don’t recognize yourself?
What if you feel heavy, tired, disconnected, uncomfortable?

Why are we pretending that means you have to stay there?

Your body isn’t a statue.
It’s alive.
It changes.
It responds.

You can change your shape.
You can change your size.
You can change your weight.
You can change your energy.
You can change your vibrancy.
You can change your life.

None of that means you don’t love yourself.

You can love your body and want it to feel better.
You can respect it and ask it to evolve with you.

I’m not talking about chasing a 30-year-old body.
I’m talking about having the right body for the life you’re living now.

The kind of body you look at in the mirror and think,
“heck yeah girl, you look good.”

That’s not vanity.
That’s alignment.

Settling isn’t self-love.
Choice is.
